DM CryptFS provides helper tools for setting up swap partitions and
filesystems using the device mapper crypt target of the Linux kernel
2.6.4 and later. A configuration file lets you specify the layout of the
encrypted storage and key derivation. Some scripts are provided to make
it interact nicely with hotplugging.

cryptswap fue removido, ya que se puede hacer más flexible por cryptfs. Unas pocas opciones se han añadido para las asignaciones de dispositivo. Se agregó el soporte para el uso de initramfs para cifrar el sistema de ficheros raíz. Pequeñas correcciones se hicieron en fsck y manipulación UID.
