PBLang is a versatile flat file BBS, requiring
only PHP 4.02 support. It has a wide range of
user specific settings, various skins/layouts,
configurable forums, moderators, email
notifications, several levels of restrictions,
membership groups, a completely configurable
layout, sortable members list, avatars, etc. The
emphasis is on configurability and reliability.

nms is a set of drop-in replacements for the
CGI scripts found at Matt's Script Archive. They
have been developed from the ground up to
emulate their behavior, but in many cases are
better written and more secure. The collection
includes form mail, guest book, simple search,
and counter scripts.

PNphpBB2 is a forum module for PostNuke. It
integrates phpBB2 with PostNuke and provides
PostNuke theme integration as well as integrating
user profiles.

BB-FORUMS is a Web forum server that creates a
system permitting several forums administrated by
different users. A forum can be public or
moderated, and subscription-moderated. Moderated
subscriptions or messages are easily accepted or
rejected by the administrators of the forums into
the web interface. It's written in PHP and MySQL,
and can run with PHP safe mode.
It is not powerful, but very simple to install and use.

rubydoc is an online initiative aimed at collecting
user feedback, experiences, and stories with ruby
classes and modules. It aims to be a hybrid
between perldoc and php.net's documentation.

VAXbb is a fast, text-only, Perl-based Web bulletin board. Its functionality and use is based loosely on a VAX terminal-based bb system that the author knew and loved.

Doc_comment is a simple PHP/MySQL document collaboration system that lets admin users upload documents/files for viewing and wiki-style commenting by other users. It uses .htaccess to provide 3 security tiers, plus an additional password for admin. It relies on browser plugins to display non-HTML files in the viewing frame (.pdf, .doc, .ppt, .xls, etc.).

IBank is an image message board featuring forums,
topics, and messages. For each topic one image
must be attached. For each message zero or more
images can be attached. Images are uploaded and
stored in a database.

Chiq_Chaq is a friendly wiki clone for non-technical users and easy localization. It uses configurable locale and page templates ("skins") that you can edit to localize (even Hebrew). It works out-of-the-box, including default content (help, etc.).

Yet Another PHP Bulletin Board (YapBB) allows you
to set up a forum on your Web site, using
PHP4+MySQL. The goal of this project is to create
a good, full featured, and free bulletin board.
Features include multible boards, modular
programming, different user authentication levels
with appropriate privileges, a certain level of
protection to prevent HTML abuse and abuse of
other exploits, many client-side options, and more
features to come.

The Edge Community Engine was created in 2000 for
use on Box networks, and it is both sturdy and
small. Feature rich and easily configurable, it

Diamond Wiki is an experimental wiki with an
emphasis on metadata and faceted navigation.

sfMaraePlugin is a threaded forum plugin for symfony. Current features include fully threaded categories and posts; a customizable permissions system for groups and individual users, allowing fine-grained settings for starting new topics, replying, editing, deleting, and viewing whole categories; and the ability to vote individual comments up and down.
