Mosquito is a window manager programmed in C++ that is easy to use and nice to look at.

awesome-status populates the awesome window
manager's widgets. It features CPU usage,
date/time, lm_sensors (CPU temperature, fan RPMs,
etc.), memory/swap information, mpd information,
network download/upload, sound card information
(volume and outgoing level), and uptime
information. An example commented configuration
file is included.

xslay is an X11 utility that destroys all windows not known to the
window manager. It can be used to get rid of retained popup windows
created by buggy programs.

Menushki is a console menu converter and editor for various Window Managers. It can work with menus of WindowMaker, KDE, GNOME, BlackBox, Enlightenment, and IceWM.

GAI bgswitcher is a dockapp and GNOME 2 panel applet that provides a quick, one-click background rotator.

wmpasman stores passwords and makes them available
for pasting (both via the middle-click primary
selection and the clipboard selection) at the
click of a button. It also contains a digital
clock. Access is controlled by a passphrase.

perlwm is a window manager written in Perl. It allows users to configure both the appearance and behaviour of the window manager through Perl scripting.

wmSMPmon is a Window Maker applet for monitoring
the CPUs, memory, and swap of SMP systems.

wmphoto+ displays the images in the dockable application window. You can switch the images manually or display them as a slide show. Each image accepts up to two related commands. You can run them using mouse buttons when the application displays the image. Using the alternative configuration directories, you can run a few instances of the program that display the different sets of images.

Notion is a tiling tabbed window manager for X. This means the screen can be freely divided into tiles that contain the client windows. Multiple client windows can occupy the same tile; in that case they will be tabbed, much like browser tabs. This way, windows will not overlap and it becomes easier to manage your screen real estate. Its functionality can be configured and even extended with Lua scripts. Various scripts are available, such as for NetWM features and multihead support.

selectwm is a simple but robust program that will
let you pick a window manager (or other
executable) to run at X startup, and optionally
after a window manager exits. It uses the GTK+
toolkit, and includes options like a timer to
start the default window manager and modification
of the window manager list from within selectwm.

XClose is a simple tool which can be used to
either list, or close, all the current windows
within your current X session which match a
particular pattern. It can be useful for closing
particular windows programmatically, or for
killing all instances of a particular program.

bbrb is a GUI background manager for Blackbox. It allows easy management of background images to be used with Blackbox. External programs such as xv and Esetroot are used to set background images on the root window. You can set images from the root menu or through the GUI. Also, random images can be displayed each time you start Blackbox.

CrystalAudio is a FVWM-Crystal configuration tuned for use on an audio workstation. It has many new applications for the menu, including many sound-related applications and improved sound controls. It launches qjackctl at startup. The final goal of the project is to make the FVWM-Crystal menu compatible with the freedesktop specification and to provide some tools to generate the menu entries and icons from desktop and icon files provided by the applications in the system.
